Analytic Paper and Senior Project

BIS Analytic Paper

In addition to completing their coursework, BIS degree candidates must also write at least one substantial analytic paper in one of their CLA areas of concentration. This paper should demonstrate the student's ability to analyze a significant topic and to present ideas about that topic in a logical, coherent and clear manner.

Students complete this requirement by submitting their BIS Analytic Paper Evaluation Form to the BIS office.

IDIM Senior Project

In addition to completing their coursework, IDIM degree candidates must complete a senior project. The senior project provides students with the opportunity to integrate what they have learned in their major program and demonstrate their ability to formulate an original interdisciplinary project appropriate for a senior who has been engaged in a sustained program of study on a single theme.

Students complete this requirement by submitting to the IDIM office the IDIM Final Evaluation Form for each of their three readers, providing the IDIM office with a copy of their project and having a grade posted for their directed study course.

IDIM Senior Project Guidelines

DEADLINES: Students need to complete the Analytic Paper or Senior Project requirement (that is, have their form(s) turned into the BIS/IDIM office) about two weeks after the last class day of the term in which they intend to graduate (check with the office for the exact date for your term).
